Steelers acting like the Steelers in free agency, with 3 signings today.

The Steelers wasted little time adding a pair of unrestricted free agents to their roster, signing San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Arnaz Battle and Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Will Allen to multi-year contracts today just hours after they visited the team's South Side offices.

Also, the Steelers have reached contract agreement with former Buffalo Bills tackle Jonathan Scott (6-foot-6, 318), an unrestricted free agent who started eight games for the Bills in 2009. Scott will be reunited with the Steelers' new offensive line coach, Sean Kugler, who coached in Buffalo last season.

Can't complain about any of them.  Arnez Battle will be in the mix with Sweed at the #4 spot, and has worked as a punt and kick returner.  Played for our new Special Teams coach last year as well.  Will Allen seems like insurance at safety, and like was mentioned in the Ryan Clark thread, was the Buc's special teams captain last year.  Jonathan Scott started 8 games last year, and looks to be in the mix at OT and RG.  If nothing else, provides some needed depth.

Jonathan Scott OT (Bills) -got some starts is long shot to make the roster IMO
Will Allen (FS)( pro bowl special team alternate) (Bucs)- Carters replacement perhaps?
Arnaz Battle (WR) (ST) (49ers)- Once compared to Hines with his hitting ability as a WR, I am thinking 5th option as a WR.....

And yes although Foote has a few scheduled visits elsewhere Steelers are interested in bringing him back for depth.....

Farrior is slowing down might need a few more breaks.  With Foote on board you have a little better options against the run on the inside as Timmons might not be the run stuffer of a Foote as well..........

Lets be honest Slash, Timmons is horrid against the run. The only thing he's good at is rushing the passer and dropping into coverage. With Farrior another year older they better get a LB that can tackle RB's. Farrior missed a bunch of tackles last year and took bad angles on quite a few more. Not sure if it had to do with age or trying to make up for Timmons
